Here is the bit everyone has read the forum threads about. You will walk out into a busy hall and several people will offer you a taxi. You do not need to talk to any of them, and you do not need to be rude about it either. Your driver is standing in that hall holding a printed board with your name on it. Look for the board, not for a person. If you cannot see it within a minute or two, stop walking, open WhatsApp and message us, and we will tell you exactly where he is standing. That is a normal message to send and we get them every week.

Modern, air conditioned, clean, and it is yours alone. Nobody else is sharing it, and the driver is not picking anyone else up on the way. He takes the bags. Your children’s seats are already fitted. There is bottled water.

The drive
80 km inland through the Souss valley, around 1h 10min. A short, flat, easy drive with the High Atlas on one side and the Anti-Atlas on the other, and the least demanding of our intercity routes.

Arriving
Taroudant sits inside its ramparts and the streets in the old town are narrow and mostly unlit after dark. Where the street physically allows it we take you to the door, not to the nearest gate, which is the part that matters if you are arriving in the evening. Properties just outside the walls have proper vehicle access. If your accommodation is out in the Souss valley rather than in the town, tell us the name at booking so we route to it directly.

Paying, and the return leg
You pay at the end, cash in euros or dirham, or you paid online in advance. You do not need to have found an ATM to get out of the airport. If you booked the return at the same time, we confirm the pick-up by message the evening before, including the early ones. A 05:00 departure for a 07:00 flight is normal work for us, not a favour, and you can go to sleep knowing it is confirmed.

When the other options are the better call
Taroudant is close enough to Agadir that shared long-distance taxis run it routinely and cheaply, and if you are flexible about departure time that is a reasonable way to travel. The reason people book this one privately is almost always the destination rather than the road: much of the accommodation sits inside or against the ramparts, arriving in the dark in an unfamiliar walled town with bags is unpleasant, and a fixed price agreed in advance removes the one negotiation you will least enjoy having.
