Paradise Valley, a palm-fringed gorge in the High Atlas about 90 minutes from Agadir, is famous for its turquoise rock pools. Timing your visit makes a big difference.
Best season
Spring (March–May) is ideal: snowmelt and winter rain keep the pools full and the palms lush. Autumn is also pleasant. By late summer some pools can be low after the dry season.
Best time of day
Arrive in the morning to enjoy the pools before the midday crowds and heat, especially on weekends.
What to bring
- Swimwear, a towel and water shoes (rocks can be slippery).
- Sun protection and plenty of water.
- Cash for the small café/parking and any local guides.
