You are in Agadir, at a hotel, near Souk El Had or by the marina, and you want to be in Taghazout. It is a short hop up the coast, about 23 km and about 30 minutes by car, and there are three realistic ways to do it: the city bus, a taxi, or a private car. They differ a lot on price and less than you would expect on time, and each one is the right answer for somebody.

This guide is for readers who are already in the city. If you are landing at the airport and going straight to Taghazout, the airport fare is covered further down, and our Agadir airport taxi prices guide covers the rank at arrivals. We drive this coast for a living, so we have an interest in the private option, but the bus is cheaper and we say so plainly. Third-party prices below are approximate, dated to the time of writing, and worth checking before you travel.

Agadir to Taghazout: bus, taxi and private car compared

The distance from Agadir city to Taghazout is about 23 km and the drive takes about 30 minutes. The table compares the three ways to cover it. Bus and taxi details come from third parties, so they are approximate and worth checking before you travel; the private fares are ours and are fixed.

In short, the bus wins on price by a wide margin, the private car wins on door-to-door simplicity, and the taxi sits in between with the most variables.

By bus: Alsa lines 32 and 33

Alsa city buses 32 and 33 serve Taghazout. At the time of writing the fare is around 5.50 to 7 MAD, paid on board, and the ride takes around 45 minutes. In the city the buses are boarded in the area north of Souk El Had, close to the CTM station.

We cannot give you a timetable, and we would rather say that than invent one. We could not find an official 2026 timetable. Older sources describe a bus about every 30 minutes in the daytime, which may or may not still hold. Check alsa.ma or ask the driver at the stop, and do not plan an evening return on the bus until you have confirmed the last departure.

The bus is the right choice if you are travelling alone or as a couple, with a daypack or one small bag, in daylight, and the saving matters more than an extra 15 minutes. It is harder with luggage or a board bag, and we have no reliable rule on what a driver will accept, so ask before you pay. Bring dirham for the fare: it is a closed currency and you generally cannot buy it before you fly.

One practical point: Souk El Had is around 4.5 km from the marina, and the boarding area is north of it. From a beach or marina hotel, the bus starts with a trip of its own to reach the stop, which narrows the gap with a taxi. Our guide to getting around Agadir is the place to start for that first leg.

By taxi: what to expect and what to pay

Agadir's orange petit taxis are metered, but they cannot leave city limits, so they cannot take you to Taghazout. Beyond the city, a taxi fare is something you agree before you get in. We do not publish a taxi price for this run, because we have no reliable figure to give you and the numbers online disagree.

Uber launched in Agadir in July 2026 and inDrive is active locally. We cannot say how well either works for a run out to Taghazout, so treat them as something to check in the app, not as a plan.

A few habits protect you from a bad deal:

  • Agree the price for the whole car, not per person
  • Say whether it is one way or return, and settle a pick-up time if you want a car back
  • Agree the currency before you set off, since dirham is hard to get before you fly
  • Name the exact place: Taghazout village, Taghazout Bay and Tamraght are different stops
  • If the number feels high, ask your hotel reception what is reasonable

Private transfer from Agadir city to Taghazout

Our fare from Agadir city to Taghazout is fixed per vehicle, agreed before you travel and the same at any hour. The same fares apply to Tamraght and to the Taghazout Bay resorts. There is no surcharge for night, luggage or surfboards, and the car has air conditioning, bottled water and a driver who takes you to the door.

The saving from sharing is real. A van carrying seven at €35 works out at 5 euros each, an SUV carrying four at €30 is 7.50 euros each, and a sedan with three is a little over 8 euros each. The bus stays cheaper per head at any group size, but the gap narrows as the group fills the car, and the car takes you from your front door to your address. The fleet page has the full vehicle details.

Baby and booster seats are free on request, and cancellation is free up to 24 hours before pick-up. A round trip is two one-way fares. Tell us how many board bags you have when you book, because it decides the vehicle.

If you are weighing the airport rank against a pre-booked car, the Agadir airport taxi prices guide sets out what taxis commonly ask there. The airport to Taghazout guide is the longer read for that journey. Flying into Marrakech instead? Read the Marrakech airport to Taghazout guide.

The bus described above starts in the city. We have no verified bus connection from the airport to quote, so we leave it out rather than guess.

Taghazout Bay or Taghazout village: where exactly are you going?

Taghazout is not one stop. There is the village, and there is Taghazout Bay, where the resorts sit: the Fairmont, the Hyatt Regency, Pickalbatros White Beach and the Riu are on this coast. Our fare from Agadir city is the same to the village, to Tamraght and to the resorts, so the only question is which address you give the driver.

It matters for the bus too. The bus serves Taghazout, but we cannot tell you where it stops in relation to a given hotel, so check the stop against your address before you rely on it, and allow for the last stretch on foot or by a short taxi ride. If you are still choosing where to stay, our guide to Taghazout Bay or Taghazout village sets out the difference.

Which one should you choose?

Take the bus if you are one person or two, with light bags, travelling by day, and happy to check the timetable and ride for around 45 minutes. It is far cheaper than the alternatives and there is nothing to apologise for in choosing it.

Take a taxi if you are comfortable negotiating, have little luggage and the timing is flexible. Agree everything before you get in, and plan how you will get back.

Book a private car if you are three or more people, travelling with children who need seats, carrying surfboards or bulky luggage, or moving at an hour when you cannot rely on the bus. It is also the only option of the three where the price, the pick-up time and the address are all settled before you leave the hotel.
